We asked for your inspirational, inventive, ingenious Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye cocktails –
and you delivered. These four recipes have been named the finalists of our first-ever “Try Rye
Cocktail Hour” Cocktail Competition. Each brings out the bold spice of Jack Rye in unexpected
ways, highlighting just how versatile a Tennessee Rye can be.

The Earl of Tennessee
A Jack Rye Take on tea

Ingredients
0.75 oz Lavender Simple Syrup (1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 2-4 tbsp. dried lavender seeds stirred in a saucepan on medium heat until clear)
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
3 oz Earl Grey Tea
1.5 oz Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye Whiskey
Instructions
1. Shake all ingredients with ice
2. Double strain into highball glass
3. Garnish with lemon slices and lavender sprigs

A Rye nightcap with style

Ingredients
1 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye Whiskey
.75 oz Barbados rum (12 year aged ideal)
.25 oz Cold brew coffee liqueur
.25 oz Fermented blueberry (500g blueberries, 400g non-chlorinated water, 400g raw honey, 2% sea salt, mixed in a mason jar and left to ferment in a cool, dark place for five days)
Barspoon banana liqueur
2-3 dashes of bitters
Absinthe rinse
Lemon twist
King cube
Instructions
1. Chill a double rocks glass and mixing glass
2. Add the king cube to the double rocks glass
3. Add ice and all ingredients into the mixing glass and stir until thoroughly chilled and slightly diluted
4. Strain over the tempered ice
5. Express lemon over the cocktail, and toss it in the glass

Tennessee’s state flower, Jacked Up

Ingredients
1.5 oz Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye Whiskey
.5 oz Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire Whiskey
2 tsp Blueberry Jam
1oz Lemon Juice, Freshly Squeezed
1 Egg White
Garnish: Blueberries, Lemon Peel in the shape of an Old No.7
Glassware: Chilled Coupe
Instructions
1. Chill a Coupe glass
2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
3. Dry shake 5-8 seconds to emulsify egg whites
4. Open your shaker back up and fill half the tin with ice
5. Close your shaker back up and shake it for 8-10 Seconds to chill the drink
6. Strain your cocktail into your chilled Coupe glass
7. Garnish with blueberries and lemon peel
Cold Spiced Toddy
Simple, sweet, satiating

Ingredients
1.5 oz Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye Whiskey
3/4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz orange liqueur
3/4 oz chai tea and honey syrup (1 cup water, 3 chai tea bags, 1/2 cup manuka honey, boil water in a saucepan and remove from heat, then steep tea bags for 3 minutes. Add honey and simmer on medium-low heat until honey dissolves. Allow to cool.)
Instructions
1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice
2. Shake and strain into a glass with ice
3. Garnish with a slice of lemon
