The Silver Cornet Band
The Silver Cornet Band
Jack Daniel's tie to music is a long one that goes all the way back to Jack himself. He knew that just like his whiskey, music had a way of bringing people together. But music and whiskey had something else in common too: if you want to make both well you need a measure of authenticity and integrity.
It only makes sense then that in 1892, the year Jack opened his two saloons on the town square - the White Rabbit and the Red Dog - he rounded up some willing townsfolk to form The Silver Cornet Band. Jack's band was made of a bank clerk, a grocer, a policeman and even a local lawyer - all of whom had to be taught to play the new instruments Jack bought them.
Making music with a little less expertise than their fellow citizens brought to making whiskey, Jack Daniel's band nonetheless became quite the local attraction. People quickly came to know that wherever the band was playing they would find a good time. And even better whiskey.
