How to enjoy Whiskey on the Rocks

Have it Jack's Way - on the rocks, with great music, and in great company. We recommend serving it in a rocks glass or tumbler because these glasses are short and wide, helping to keep your whiskey perfectly chilled.

Whiskey on the rocks vs neat

On occasion, Mr. Jack used to drink his whiskey mixed with sugar and a curious ingredient called Tansy. We wouldn't recommend trying it yourself, since Tansy is a plant that’s commonly known to be poisonous when not properly prepared. Seems better to us to stick with a little bit of ice.

Drinking whiskey on the rocks is the best way to appreciate its pure aroma and taste, which water can even help enhance. This is because of a chemical reaction that happens when whiskey is mixed with water, where a flavour-enhancing molecule rises to the top of your glass, intensifying the taste and smell of your whiskey.

Or forget the rocks and have it neat, if that's how you prefer. Without the ice to chill and dilute it, you will be able to fully appreciate the full-bodied taste of your whiskey. Drinking whiskey neat is a timeless way to enjoy the sweet and smoky flavour of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7.

Although some may prefer the bold, untamed flavour of whiskey neat, whiskey on ice has its own edge. The coolness of the ice also helps tone down the kick, making whiskey on the rocks a smooth, classic combination.
