DEFINING HIS LEGACY
"I want to leave a legacy that will impact children like me. I want to leave a legacy that makes a difference in all children's lives, including those in the foster care system. I want to give children opportunities from different circumstances and show other Black boys and girls that they can do what I've done and more. Just because you have struggled doesn't mean that you cannot succeed. I have been in tough situations and have risen above them with support. All kids need that support, and I intend to provide it when and where I can. My mentor was an old man who lacked education but had wisdom. For every problem I had, he had a life story to help me get through the situation. He was the smartest man I knew. That person was my father, Nathan Figgers. ABOUT FREDDIE
Freddie is an inventor, computer programmer, software engineer, and entrepreneur. He's the founder of Figgers, the only Black-owned American telecommunications company in America. Freddie is the youngest person in history to hold an FCC license, which allows him to operate his own cell phone company.
At nine years old, Freddie was given a broken computer to take apart and fix. At the age of 13, he went to work as a computer technician, network, and administrator. At 16, Freddie launched a computer repair business. The same year, Figgers Computers, Inc. was born. Now, Figgers holds four patents and continues to forge ahead. The young inventor and software engineer has developed a passion for working on electronics and a dedication to helping others by creating a series of services and products that seamlessly provide solutions for everyday needs.
