From Lynchburg to the World For Over 150 Years

In 2016 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Distillery Jack Daniel founded in Lynchburg, TN, next to the cool, clear cave spring where he discovered the perfect iron-free water for making his Tennessee whiskey.

Jack was an extremely particular man where whiskey was concerned, so once he came upon that spring, he did what any ambitious young man would do: he bought the land and got down to work. And for the rest of his life, he did what only one man could do: he made the whiskey that bears his name, living by his motto that

"every day we make it, we'll make it the best we can."

Lynchburg

And through seven master distillers (including Jack himself), we have strived to live up to those simple, uncompromising words.

Every single drop of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey sold anywhere in the world still comes from that same cave spring in Lynchburg, TN. Old No. 7 isn't just made in Lynchburg, it's made of Lynchburg. From its water and from the pride and toil of the generations of men and women who have been making it here for nearly a century and a half.
